What is Invisalign treatment?

In the Invisalign system, corrective plates specially prepared for your mouth are used to correct your teeth. Invisalign, one of the latest technologies in orthodontic treatments, is a wire-free orthodontic treatment applied to correct your teeth with transparent plates specially made for you.

These plates are soft, comfortable and completely transparent and are placed on your teeth. As a result of wearing these plates, your teeth are gradually placed in the place planned by your orthodontist.

How do teeth move without braces?

Your doctor will take measurements from your mouth and these measurements will be transferred to the computer environment with a 3D scanning method called the CAD-CAM system. The teeth transferred to the virtual environment are moved with a computer simulation.

After correcting your teeth on the computer and printing the desired shape from the 3D printer, Invisalign plates are produced by printing flexible transparent plates on them. Each plate creates a movement of 0.05 mm and when you put this corrected plate on your teeth, the teeth are forced into this plate and the teeth move a little more with each plate change.

The plates are worn for 15 days and then the next plate is changed.

So, at what age can my child receive Invisalign treatment?

Your child must have lost all of their milk teeth and at least their second molars must have partially erupted. This corresponds to an average age of around 12. Invisalign can be easily applied to both teenagers and adults. It can be easily worn from the age of 12 to the age of 80.

My teeth are very crooked, can it correct my teeth too?

Each transparent plate corrects the teeth by 0.25-0.5 mm and needs to be worn for 20-22 hours a day for 14 days, at the end of the second week, the teeth take the shape of the plate and the second plate, which has a little more correction on it, is switched to and the teeth take the shape of the new plate for 14 days, thus the teeth are corrected after the use of a series of plates.

Is the treatment shorter with normal braces or Invisalign?
